AEA Investors is in “advanced talks” to acquire Gypsum Management and Supply Inc. for more than $700 million, according to Reuters. Other bidders reportedly had included a partnership of Apollo Global Management, The Carlyle Group, Onex Partners and Platinum Equity. The deal is expected to close in the middle of 2014. The Carlyle Group has agreed to acquire the industrial packaging business of Illinois Tool Works Inc. (NYSE: ITW) for $3.2 billion. Backers include Y Combinator, SV Angel and Max Levchin. Celery, a San Francisco-based “pre-commerce” store builder for online and mobile shopping, has raised $2 million in seed funding. CircleCI, a San Francisco-based developer of continuous integration and continuous delivery technologies, has raised $6 million in new VC funding led by DFJ.
